The Power of Contextual Narratives.
For a Documentary it is important for the video footage to have an emotional connection with the audience (Strong Story) and also good communication with the community.
Design is something that connects to the audience. ex: -Trends, Popularation and etc.
The major question is,
What is your Documentary ?
The Story behind the design.
Does these local clothing line has impact to society ? How does it stay connected with social communities.
What are the steps ? Do these local clothing designer study the trends and in things to design OR are the design produce is based on the type of art the designer has and hope that locals can adapt to it ?
The Basic Story Line.
Exposition - to reveil, to show. Basically to tell an introduction about what are local clothing line ?
what makes a local clothing line, local ?
Confrontation - The Question, the presentation, the history behind it. So its about the things we want to know. These is the stage that we ask and gather infos about what we want to know about a brand, the type of style and other things.
Resolution - The Answers, the solution, further hope and opinions. Its about results and the knowledge we gain after the interviews and we make a conclusion and give our own opinion on local clothing lines and their designs.
Pre production phase is also about themes. The mood you want to set on the audience,
So what are possible themes ?
Its about making the movie interesting and not just about facts but added with a touch on fun and suspend. Always keep the audience on the edge on their seats wondering what are the answer to their question and etc....
- Things about the opening part that has to be taken precaution of are - transsision, camera angles, body language and words said. Play with the visual rhetorics. Make space and shoot at creative angle to get your audience attention.
